National Level of Policing

The professional Profiles are categorised against 5 organisational levels for Policing roles (including Support staff roles). This aims to recognise technical expertise alongside the hierarchical structure.

The ranks and role may not neatly fit into the 5 levels in all forces and there may be a degree of overlap. The 5 levels are used on the professional development website simply to ease navigation across the full set of Professional profiles.
